Gumball Effect
Many people fall victim to this mistake, Trust me PTF you want to
stay far away from this poisonous thinking. There is something called the “Gumball Effect”. Let’s put our thinking caps on, imagine someone walking into the super marketcraving a delicious gumball, they look for the gumball machine and as soon as they find it they pull out their quarter and place it into the machine. They turn the knob and the gumball comes out. Wow, just like that they get what they want!
Some individuals come to church and only pray when there is a problem.
They never gives thanks, nor pray outside of church, forget about giving thanks for
the good things that happen in their life, also not to mention they are never serious about what the pastor says. Instead of telling the truth they tell lies most of the time.
When problems happen, they pray expecting the answer right away like the gumball.
Nothing happens, they get angry at everyone even God. Everyone else in the church is being answered except them and they don’t know why.
PTF, God is not a big Gumball machine in the sky. God sees all we do and hear’s all we say. He hears our prayers, and is looking for good hearts. Be truthful not just in church but where ever you are. God is true and just, and not a machine that gives you what you want with a quarter.
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself
strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9)
